IRIB radio to broadcast special programs to promote book reading habit –Deputy

IRIB radio channels have prepared a special package of programs to promote book reading habit among the public, Deputy of Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting Organization (IRIB) told the press office of the 23rd Tehran International Book Fair.

 
Mohammad Hussein Sufi expressed hope the package would help widen the habit and would subsequently lead to a rise in the current edition of publications.
 
Sufi elaborated on several package of programs designed for the ongoing edition of the landmark event, adding that IRIB radio channels cover the major event by five portable units.
 
He said the book fair was a fine opportunity for programming works in light of presence of personalities from cultural, media and academic spheres.
 
The deputy noted that books can play a substantial role in daily public life, adding that the organization has accorded a special attention to book reading issue, bearing in mind an emphasis put by authorities on the issue.
 
He went on to say that under several special programs were on the current year broadcasting agenda, featured by panels of book reviews, book reading discussion, and appreciation of top publishers and authors.
 
The agenda shows a major growth year on year in terms of volume and quality, he added.
