Foreign publishers have nearly 200,000 titles on 24th TIBF stalls

Foreign publishers are set to put about 196,200 titles on their show stalls in the 24th edition of Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF), according to Ali Alipour, deputy of the international section in the TIBF policy committee.

 

Publishers from up to 76 foreign countries are at hand in the 24th edition with Cuba, Uruguay and Brazil having their debut shows in the major international cultural event, Alipour told IBNA (Iran Book News Agency) Monday.

 

Concerning the edition date of the foreign titles, Alipour said up to 26,200 titles are all published after 2009 and could be purchased by foreign currencies while up to 170,000 titles carry a post-2006, first edition date and could be purchased by the Iranian currency (rial).

 

10 friendship groups will set up their own pavilions in the hall of international section in the 24th TIBF book show, the deputy of international section went on to say.

 

The 24th book fair would open to public on May 4 and would run for 10 days. The pavilions are set up inside the compound of Imam Khomeini Mosalla (grand mosque), north of Tehran.
